Cookie policy
This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies webcrafters.ca uses, what they are for, and how you can control them. It is part of our privacy policy.
In short
- Essential cookies keep the site and the client portal working and cannot be switched off.
- A small first-party cookie remembers how you found us (search, an ad, a link) so a form you send can be matched to its source. It holds no personal details.
- Analytics and advertising cookies from Google, Meta and Microsoft Clarity help us measure the site and run ads.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time; the site still works, with some features reduced.

1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as pixels and local storage, do the same job. Some cookies last only for your visit (session cookies); others stay until they expire or you delete them (persistent cookies).
2. Cookies we use
Essential
Set by WordPress, the client portal and Cloudflare to keep you logged in, remember form progress, protect against spam and attacks, and deliver the site quickly. These are required and cannot be refused.
Analytics
- Google Analytics 4 (via Google Tag Manager): pages viewed, how you got here, device type and approximate location. IP addresses are anonymised by Google. Cookies: _ga, _ga_*; up to 2 years.
- Microsoft Clarity: anonymised session recordings and heatmaps that show how pages are used. Cookies: _clck, _clsk; up to 1 year.
Advertising
- Google Ads: conversion measurement and remarketing, so we can show relevant ads on Google and measure whether they work. Cookies: _gcl_*; up to 90 days.
- Meta Pixel: measurement and remarketing for Facebook and Instagram ads. Cookies: _fbp, _fbc; up to 90 days.
Functional
Ella, our virtual assistant, stores a conversation id in your browser so the chat continues across pages. Preferences such as a closed notice are stored the same way.
A first-party cookie named wc_attr records how you arrived at the site (for example a search engine, an advertisement or a link from another site), the campaign if any, the page you landed on and the date of your first visit, so that if you send us a form we know which channel it came from. It holds no name, email or other personal details and expires after 30 days.
3. Managing cookies
- Browser settings: every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies, for all sites or for ours only. Blocking essential cookies will stop the client portal from working.
- Google: opt out of Analytics with Google’s browser add-on, and manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
- Meta: manage ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.
- Microsoft Clarity: opt out at clarity.microsoft.com.
- Global Privacy Control: we honour the GPC browser signal where our tools support it.
4. Third parties
The analytics and advertising providers above receive the data their cookies collect and use it under their own privacy policies, which may include storage outside Canada. We only receive aggregated reports and audiences; we do not sell personal information.
5. Changes to this policy
We review this list when we add or remove tools and update the date at the top.
