E-commerce website development
E-commerce website development for Canadian businesses. An online store that sells while you sleep.
E-commerce website development with a secure payment gateway, Canadian shipping and taxes worked out automatically, product pages written to be found on Google, and a store your team can run without a developer. You get a fixed written quote for a clearly defined first version, one project lead from your first message to launch, and hosting priced separately on the quote.
Since 2021 serving Canadian businesses
Vancouver based, working across Canada
Hosting, plugins and licences listed on the quote
What you get
Everything included in a WebCrafters online store.
An e-commerce website is a website plus a till, a warehouse and a tax office. This is what your quote covers, and it is the list to compare other e-commerce quotes against.
A store designed around your products
Home, category, product and checkout pages designed for what you sell and who buys it, reviewed with you screen by screen before we build.
A store you can run yourself
Add products, change prices, run a sale, refund an order and print a shipping label from one dashboard. We train your team at handover.
Secure checkout, any way they want to pay
Card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay through a secure payment gateway, with card details never touching your site. A short checkout from cart to confirmation means fewer abandoned carts.
Canadian shipping and tax, automatic
Canada Post and courier rates calculated at checkout, GST, HST and PST charged correctly by province, and free-shipping rules you set once.
Product pages written to be found
Titles, descriptions, categories and product schema written around the words shoppers actually search, so your products show up in Google and Google Shopping.
Fast on phones, where most orders happen
Built to pass Google Core Web Vitals with product images optimized, because a slow store on a phone is an abandoned cart.
Sales tracking that shows what sells
Google Analytics 4 e-commerce tracking, Search Console and your ad accounts connected, so you can see which products, pages and channels bring revenue.
Abandoned cart and review emails
A reminder to shoppers who left items in the cart, and a review request after delivery, set up to run on their own from day one.
Product builder and options
Sizes, colours, materials, engraving, bundles and add-ons, with the price updating as the shopper chooses. Built for products that are made to order or sold in kits.
Conditional discounts and promotions
Coupon codes, buy-more-save-more pricing, free gifts over an amount, member or trade pricing, and sales that start and end on a schedule, all set by rules you control.
Returns and exchanges, with labels
Shoppers start a return from their account, a prepaid return label is generated for them, and refunds and exchanges are tracked from request to restock.
Customer accounts and loyalty
Shoppers save addresses and cards, see order history and reorder in a click. Points, rewards and member pricing bring them back without another ad.
No transaction fees to us, ever
The platform does not take a cut of your sales and neither do we. You pay the card processor its standard rate and keep the rest. Hosting is priced separately and plugins and licences are listed on your quote, and once paid in full the store, its design files and the code written for it are yours.
Integrations and functions
Everything an online store can connect to, and the functions it can run.
Not every store needs all of this, and the first version should not try to. Before quoting, we pick what your store needs on day one and park the rest for later phases.
Payments
Take money any way your customers want to pay.
Shipping and fulfilment
Rates, labels and tracking without retyping addresses.
Accounting and inventory
Every order where your bookkeeper expects it.
Marketing and email
Keep selling after the first order.
Marketplaces and ads
Sell the same catalogue everywhere.
Store functions
The features that turn a catalogue into a business.
Not sure what your store needs?
Tell Ella what you sell and how you ship. Ella will outline the store setup that fits.
Seven quick questions about your products, your shipping and how you sell today. You get a plain-words outline of the catalogue, checkout, shipping and tax setup that fits, and a project lead can turn it into a written quote. Two minutes, no jargon, no obligation.
Ella is automated and can make mistakes. Your written quote from a project lead is the final word.
How it works
E-commerce website development in four steps, from product list to first order.
A store with up to a few dozen products usually launches in four to six weeks. Larger catalogues, subscriptions and integrations take longer, and your quote shows the real dates.
01
Your request and a written quote
You send us the details: what you sell, how you ship, what you charge tax on and how you sell today. You get a proposal with a fixed price for the first version, a start date and a mockup of your store home page within one business day.
Day 1 to 2
02
Catalogue, checkout and design
We structure the catalogue, map the checkout, and design the home, category and product templates. You approve the designs, and every product page is built from them.
Week 1 to 2
03
Build, load products, test real orders
The store is built on a private staging address, products loaded, shipping and tax rules set, and test orders placed and refunded end to end on your own phone before anything goes live.
Week 2 to 5
04
Launch, train and take the first order
We put the store live on your domain, connect Analytics, Search Console and Google Merchant Center, and walk your team through orders, refunds and stock. Optional maintenance plans keep it updated after that.

What it costs
A fixed price for the store, before any work starts.
We do not publish a single price because a store with twelve products and a store with two thousand, subscriptions and a warehouse feed are different jobs. What we do promise is a written quote and a mockup of your store home page within one business day, and the number does not change unless you change the scope.
What moves the price
How many products and variations, whether product photos and descriptions exist, shipping complexity, subscriptions or wholesale pricing, and any inventory, accounting or marketplace systems the store connects to.
Payment plans up to 24 months
Pay by milestone, or spread the cost over up to 24 months. Credit and debit cards and bank transfer are both fine.
Hosting, plugins and licences on one quote
The store is a one-time price. Hosting on WebCrafters Cloud is a separate ongoing cost, paid monthly or yearly, and your quote lists every extension and licence the store needs, so there are no surprise renewals. Ongoing care plans are optional, with fixed monthly prices.
Questions
What owners ask before building an online store.
If yours is not here, the full list is one click away, or just pick up the phone.
Still have a question?
Call us on a weekday, or send a note and we will get back to you within one business day.
Which platform will my online store run on?
We choose the platform for your store and explain the choice in your quote. Most stores we build are on WooCommerce, because you own the store outright, there are no monthly platform fees or transaction fees on top of card processing, and it sits on the same site as your content, which helps with search. When something else is the better fit, for example a very large catalogue with in-store point of sale, we say so before we quote.
How do shipping and taxes work for a Canadian store?
Taxes are charged by the customer’s province automatically, GST, HST or GST plus PST, and reports are ready for your accountant. Shipping can be live Canada Post or courier rates, flat rates, free over a threshold, or local pickup, and we set the rules with you. Selling to the US is a small extra step we handle if you want it.
Do I need product photos and descriptions before an online store is built?
Having product photos and descriptions ready helps, but it is not a blocker. Good photos sell products, so we will tell you what to shoot on a phone and how. Descriptions we write with you, around the words shoppers search for. If you are launching with a handful of products, we can start with what you have and add the rest as they are ready.
Are there monthly fees or a cut of my sales on an online store you build?
There is no cut of your sales, from the platform or from us. The card processor charges its standard rate per transaction, which is the same on any platform. Hosting is priced separately, and plugins and licences are listed on your build quote. The only optional monthly cost is a maintenance plan if you want updates, backups and included support hours handled for you.
