Objectives
What New Territory Consulting needed from this website design project, and what we built for it.
The goal
Explain what the consultancy does for governments and non-profits
What we built
Policy, program and strategy services each have a page, with the approach to every engagement spelled out.
The goal
Show the work
What we built
A projects page that describes past engagements in plain terms, for a sector that checks references first.
The goal
Be open about rates
What we built
A rates page, so a prospective client knows what to expect before getting in touch.
The goal
Make the first contact easy
What we built
A connect form and a contact page, linked from every page.
The goal
Look credible on a phone
What we built
A calm teal palette, one clean typeface and a fast, mobile-first build.
Prototyping
New Territory Consulting, page by page, before colour and photos.
The home page and the main inner pages as greyscale wireframes, for desktop and for phones. With colour and photography taken out, what is left is the structure: where the navigation, headings, images and calls to action sit on each page.

Colour and style
The look of New Territory Consulting.
Teal with a rust accent on warm white, one geometric sans-serif throughout and photography of northern landscapes, so the site feels grounded and professional.

Content
What the site says, and where.
The home page states who the consultancy serves and why, then leads to services, projects and rates. Each service line explains the kind of engagement and ends at the connect form.

The build
How the New Territory Consulting website was built.
New Territory Consulting needed a site that explains its services to health, housing and social support providers, shows its projects and makes the first contact easy. This is what went into it.
Custom WordPress build
A responsive, accessible site in WordPress with service, project and rates pages the consultancy can edit.
Search foundation
Page titles, meta descriptions, internal links and breadcrumbs, with Organization and Service schema, clean URLs and an XML sitemap.
Connect and contact forms
A connect form that asks only what is needed, wired to the consultancy's inbox with spam protection.
Speed and Core Web Vitals
Images compressed, critical CSS, caching and a CDN, tuned for phones first.
Hosted on WebCrafters Cloud
North American hosting on Nginx and PHP-FPM with Redis caching, an edge CDN, WAF and DDoS protection, daily off-site backups and uptime monitoring.
Security and reliability
Security hardening and uptime monitoring, so the site stays available when traffic spikes.
