Search engine optimization
Show up when your customers search. Start with a free audit.
Search engine optimization for Canadian businesses that want to be found on Google for the searches that bring in work. Local search, service pages, technical fixes and content people actually read. It starts with a free Standard audit of your site based on public data, no logins needed, and a written plan with a fixed price for whatever is worth doing next.

What you get
Everything included in a WebCrafters SEO plan.
SEO has a reputation for vague monthly invoices. Ours is a list of specific work, done in an order that pays back, with a report you can read.
Keyword research that matches real customers
What people in your area type when they need you, how many search for it, and which of those searches turn into calls. That list drives everything else.
Local search set up properly
Google Business Profile completed and verified, categories and service areas set, reviews encouraged, and the site and profile telling the same story.
Technical fixes
Speed, mobile usability, broken links, duplicate pages, indexing problems and structured data, fixed so Google can crawl and trust the site.
Service and location pages
One clear page for each service and each area you serve, with titles, headings and internal links written for the searches that matter.
Content people read and share
Guides, answers and comparisons that match what customers ask before they buy, written with you, reviewed by a person, and kept current.
Links and mentions that count
Listings, local directories, suppliers, associations and press that genuinely reference your business. No bought links, ever.
Tracking that shows leads, not just traffic
Search Console and Analytics set up to record calls, forms and bookings, so you can see which searches bring customers.
A monthly report in plain words
What we did, what moved, what is next. One page, no jargon, and a call whenever you want to go through it.
Two audits, pick the one you need
The Standard audit uses public data only, needs no access, and is free for a limited time. The Deep audit goes into Search Console, Analytics and the back end of the site and is quoted. Both end in a written plan.
Not sure what to go after?
Tell Ella who you want to reach. Ella will suggest where SEO should start.
Six quick questions about your area, your customers and what they search for. You get a plain-words plan of the pages and fixes to start with, and a project lead can turn it into a written quote. Two minutes, no jargon, no obligation.
Ella is automated and can make mistakes. Your written quote from a project lead is the final word.
How it works
From audit to results in four steps.
Technical and on-page fixes usually take two to four weeks. Rankings and enquiries move over the following months, which is why we report monthly rather than promise a date.
01
Free Standard audit
Send us your address and your biggest concern. We check speed, mobile, structure and how you show up on Google using public data, and send a short report with what to fix first.
Within 2 business days
02
Plan and written quote
A short call on your customers and area, then a plan that lists the searches to target, the pages to build or fix, and a fixed price for the work. A Deep audit is offered here if the site needs it.
Week 1
03
Fix, build and publish
Technical fixes first, then service and location pages, local listings and the first content pieces. You review each page before it goes live.
Week 2 to 6
04
Measure and keep going
A monthly report shows what moved and what is next. Ongoing work such as new content and links is optional and quoted month by month, and you can stop with 30 days’ notice.
Monthly
After the audit
After the audit, the work is technical. This is what actually gets done.
Search engines reward sites that are easy to crawl, fast, clearly described and genuinely useful. Depending on what the audit finds, that can be a one-time project that fixes the gaps, or ongoing work where the cycle below is repeated, and your quote says which. The figures are an illustrative example of a well-run site, not a promise. Your report shows your own.
Three technical signals, checked on every pass
Pages indexed
Of the pages we want Google to show
Passing Core Web Vitals
URLs Google rates as fast and stable
Unique titles and schema
Every page described properly
Pages indexed comes from Search Console coverage. Core Web Vitals is Google’s own speed and stability test. Titles, descriptions and schema are checked on every page after each crawl, because a page Google cannot read or understand cannot rank.
Where the SEO work goes, by task
Content takes the biggest share because new searches need new pages. Technical fixes come first in a one-time project and stay on the list in ongoing work, since plugins, themes and Google itself keep changing. The mix follows what the audit found.
Clicks from Google search over six months, example site
Technical fixes land in month one and Google re-crawls over the following weeks, so the curve is slow at first and steepens as new pages are indexed and start to rank. Movement like this is typical for a site that had the basics missing, not guaranteed.
Some of the technical items we work through
- CrawlStatus codes, redirect chains, 404s and orphan pages
- Indexrobots.txt, meta robots, canonicals, XML sitemaps
- SpeedLCP, INP and CLS, render-blocking CSS and JS
- ImagesSized to their slot, compressed, lazy-loaded, alt text
- StructureClean URLs, breadcrumbs, link depth of three or less
- SchemaLocalBusiness, Service, FAQ, Product and Breadcrumb markup
- On-pageUnique titles and descriptions, one H1, heading order
- ContentThin and duplicate pages merged, intent matched per page
- LocalGoogle Business Profile, NAP consistency, citations
- Bilingualhreflang for French and English where it applies
- SecurityHTTPS everywhere, mixed content and HSTS checked
- TrackingSearch Console, GA4 events and position tracking in place
These are some of the items, not all of them. The exact list for your site depends on what the audit finds and on your project, and it is set out clearly in your proposal, with a priority on each item so the first work done is the work that moves the most.
The work cycle, run once or repeated
Crawl with the same tools Google uses, fix what blocks indexing, write for the searches people actually type, strengthen the links between pages, measure positions and leads, then decide the next step from the numbers rather than from guesses. A one-time project runs this cycle once; ongoing work repeats it.
What it costs
A fixed price for the work, and a free place to start.
SEO is not one product, so we do not publish one price. A plumber who wants to show up in three suburbs and a distributor selling across Canada need different work. What we do promise is a written plan with a fixed price for each piece, and nothing is billed month to month unless you choose ongoing work.
What moves the price
How many services and areas you want to rank for, how much technical repair the site needs, how much content has to be written, and how competitive your market is.
Standard audit free, Deep audit quoted
The Standard audit is free for a limited time and needs no access to anything. The Deep audit needs your Google accounts and site access, takes longer, and is quoted up front.
No long contracts, no promised rankings
Nobody can promise a position on Google, and anyone who does is guessing. We promise specific work, honest reports and the option to stop with 30 days’ notice.
Questions
What owners ask about search engine optimization.
If yours is not here, the full list is one click away, or just pick up the phone.
Still have a question?
Call us on a weekday, or send a note and we will get back to you within one business day.
How long until SEO shows results?
Technical fixes and local listings can move things within weeks. New pages and content usually take three to six months to settle, longer in competitive markets. We tell you what to expect for your market in the plan, and the monthly report shows progress well before the phone starts ringing more.
What is the difference between the Standard and the Deep SEO audit?
The Standard audit uses only what is publicly visible, meaning your pages, speed, mobile experience, listings and how you appear in search. It needs no logins and is free for a limited time. The Deep audit adds Search Console, Analytics and back-end access, so it can see which searches you already get, indexing problems and tracking gaps. It is quoted, and most clients start with the Standard one.
Can you guarantee a first-page ranking on Google?
No reputable SEO company can guarantee a first-place or page-one ranking on Google. Google’s systems decide search rankings, and no agency controls them. What we guarantee is the SEO work set out in your plan, done properly, with clear reporting that shows progress and results. Be cautious of agencies that guarantee specific rankings, even with a refund attached. A money-back offer does not make the ranking itself predictable or controllable.
Do I have to sign a monthly SEO contract?
No, SEO work from WebCrafters does not require a monthly contract. The initial fixes and pages are quoted as a fixed-price project. Ongoing work such as new content, links and reporting is optional, quoted month by month, and you can pause or stop with 30 days’ notice. Everything we build stays on your site.
