Objectives
What Prince George Counselling needed from this website design project, and what we built for it.
The goal
Make it easy to book a first appointment
What we built
A book-an-appointment page with online scheduling, linked from the header of every page and from every service.
The goal
Explain the services in plain words
What we built
A service page for each kind of support, written for someone who is unsure what they need, with the next step at the end of each one.
The goal
Be found in Prince George and across Northern BC
What we built
Page titles, descriptions and headings written for local and online counselling searches, with LocalBusiness and FAQ schema.
The goal
Feel calm and trustworthy
What we built
Soft neutral colours, generous spacing, a serif for headings and warm photography, so the first screen feels safe to read.
The goal
Keep growing without a developer
What we built
A blog and a resources section the counsellor can add to from the WordPress editor.
Prototyping
Prince George Counselling, page by page, before colour and photos.
The home page and the main inner pages as greyscale wireframes, for desktop and for phones. With colour and photography taken out, what is left is the structure: where the navigation, headings, images and calls to action sit on each page.

Colour and style
The look of Prince George Counselling.
Muted slate green and sand on a warm off-white, a serif for headings and a clean sans-serif for text, so the site reads as quiet and personal rather than clinical.

Content
What the site says, and where.
The home page explains who the counselling is for and how it works, then points to booking. Each service has its own page, and the blog answers the questions people type into Google before they look for a counsellor.

The build
How the Prince George Counselling website was built.
Prince George Counselling needed a site that explains its services plainly, lets a new client book online in a few taps, and is found across Northern BC. This is what went into it.
Custom WordPress build
A responsive, accessible site in WordPress with service, blog and resource sections the counsellor can edit.
Online booking
A booking page connected to the counsellor's scheduling, reachable from the header of every page.
Local and online SEO
Titles, descriptions and headings for Prince George and online counselling searches, with LocalBusiness and FAQ schema and an XML sitemap.
Speed and Core Web Vitals
Images compressed, critical CSS, caching and a CDN, tuned for phones first.
Hosted on WebCrafters Cloud
North American hosting on Nginx and PHP-FPM with Redis caching, an edge CDN, WAF and DDoS protection, daily off-site backups and uptime monitoring.
Security and reliability
Security hardening and uptime monitoring, so the site stays available when traffic spikes.
